After being the maid of honor in my best friend’s wedding July of 2012, I was at the highest weight I had ever been; I was 180 lbs. Being only 5’1, this was extremely unhealthy and unsatisfying to me. I was unhappy with the dress size I had to order for her wedding and after looking at pictures from the wedding, something clicked in my head. I decided that I was going to change my entire life around. All it took was looking at those pictures and seeing the dissatisfaction in my face. I felt uncomfortable and embarrassed.
I first began by eating healthier and taking daily walks. The weight began to come off from making these few simple life changes.
I wanted to take my weight loss to the next level. After losing about 30 pounds from walking and eating healthier, I began to think about how I could gain muscle and =tone up at the same time while still losing fat. This is when I joined Real Training and Fitness. Joining the gym brought me to a whole new level of working out. With the encouragement and help of the friendly staff and gym members, I’ve transformed my entire body and life. The weight was still coming off, but I could start seeing more definition in my muscles which is what my goal was. It became addicting to me. I kept seeing more and more improvement that it only made me want it even more. I learned so much about dieting, lifting, and cardio. I currently am a healthy and muscular 128 lbs. Over all, I lost 52 lbs and went from a size 14 to a size 0. I went from a BMI of 34% to a healthy 22% BMI.
I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my wise decision to join Real Training and Fitness. I can’t thank the people here enough that showed me that dreams can come true if you work hard and put your mind to it. I have kept my weight off for over a year now and continue to put on muscle. My one tip: Make small goals along the way and strive for them. Don’t ever give up, and know that you can always make improvements if you’re in the right mindset. Good luck in your endeavors!
